Employee Walkout - December 2003

Objective:
The branch manager was terminated for planning to leave the firm and manipulating business to improperly enrich the firm she later joined. Upon termination, most of the employees staffing that branch walked out and also joined the new firm. We have been asked to acquire and examine the computer evidence to determine what communication had transpired between the parties and to determine whether any instructions were issues to copy or destroy company property.

Misappropriation of Confidential Information - December 2003

Several employees left a firm to start another. Original firm claims confidential information was taken. We have been asked to acquire and examine the computer evidence from the new firm.

Software Counterfeiting - December 2003

Objective:
Federal criminal case. Software retailer was arrested and charged with selling counterfeit software. Retailer insists this software was purchased from a legitimate CD duplicator licensed to distribute the software involved. We have been asked to examine the evidence seized.

Damages Resulting From Web Hosting Termination - October 2003

Objective:
Web site retailer transitioned from outsourced hosting to in-house hosting. During transfer of web assets to new servers, outsourced host detected what they thought was an intrusion. Web site retailer claims damages resulting from being denied access during this period. We have been hired to examine the material involved in the case.

Improper Payment of Commissions - September 2003

Online merchant claimed improper payment of commissions. We were asked to acquire computer evidence and search for correspondence relating to payment of commissions.

Wiretapping, Trespassing, Theft of Confidential Information - August 2003

Objective:
Several employess left a firm to form another. After original firm began losing bids to the new firm, they investigated their email records and found that someone had been accessing private company mailboxes from a location outside their LAN/WAN. We were hired to ascertain what had transpired, what information had been compromised, and what was done with the information obtained.

Improper Hiring Practices - July 2003

Objective:
Two employess from a firm were recruited by a competing firm. We were asked to investigate computer evidence to determine whether any improper hiring practices were involved.

Embezzlement - June 2003

Former CFO of an organization has been accused of misappropriating funds in collusion with the CEO. We have been asked to examine the remaining computer evidence involved in the case to determine whether there are any traces of improper activities.

Microsoft Word Document Analysis - June 2003

Objective:
One document produced for the court on a CDROM prepared by the owner contained data pivotal to the case. We were hired to examine the CDROM produced, examine the document in question especially the metadata present, and provide expert testimony.

Employment Firm Dispute - May 2003

Dispatching Software Liability - April 2003

Objective:
Purchaser of dispatching system utilizing two-way paging system cancels contract after more than a year stating that the system does not work. Insurance company for the defendant has asked us to look into the case, examine the systems involved in order to determine the validity of the claims.

HMO Management Project - March 2003

Objective:
Analyzed extensive project records in a failed outsourcing contract to perform medical claims processing for client HMO. Project records show that experience and skills claimed by supplier during marketing phase were not sufficient to avoid unacceptable claims backlogs and excessive payment error rates.

Web Application Hosting - January 2003

Objective:
A web application host signed an agreement to provide services for a company which terminated the agreement without the provided notification to cure, and without paying for several months of service. We have been asked to review the services provided to determine whether they met industry standards.
