Analysis - February 2001

Objective:
We have been asked to assist in the defense of an individual accused of
possessing illegal computer material. We will analyze the individual's
computer evidence to determine when and if such material was actually
obtained.
Disposition:
Our analysis showed that the small amount offensive material was
obtained during one very short online session and that the defendant
lost possession of the computer immediately thereafter. Charges were
ultimately reduced.
